Select 78 – that delivers greater toughness than conventional self-shielded
electrodes. This new electrode meets
both AWS requirements and FEMA’s
353 welding standards.
Select 78, an E71T- 8 electrode, is
designed for use in critical structural
steel fabrication. Suitable for Demand
Critical Welds under AWS D1.8, this
exceptional wire may also be utilized
for ship and barge fabrication, bridge
construction and any general fabrication where gas-shielded electrodes
may experience problems, such as
outdoors or in windy conditions.
Select78 produces a smooth arc transfer
over a wide range of welding parameters with low spatter. Its fast freezing
slag allows for welding in all positions,
at higher deposition rates and with
excellent puddle control. Select 78
weld beads are smooth, even and well
washed with easily removed slag.
