40-amp, 21-lb. plasma cutting system

Miller Electric Mfg. Co. offers the Spectrum® 625 X-TREME™, a 40-amp plasma cutting unit that can cut 5⁄8-in. mild steel at 12 IPM and ¼-in. steel at 60 IPM.

The unit is portable, weighing 21 lbs. and with a size of 9- by 5.5- by eliminates retriggering when cutting fences, grates, and other expanded metal products.

The machine is suitable for body shop, light construction, and maintenance applications.

Hand-held plasma cutting system

Thermal Dynamics’ Ultra-Cut® plasma system makes precision cuts on carbon steel and nonferrous metals.

The company’s Water Mist Secondary (WMS®) process helps achieve precise cut quality on aluminum and stainless steel. The process uses nitrogen as a plasma gas and water as the shield. The water in the shield stream is divided into its principal components during the cutting process. The hydrogen creates a reduced atmosphere in the cut zone, isolating it from contaminants, resulting in a dross-free cut surface that is weld-ready. Most of the water used in the cut process evaporates.

Inverter-powered
plasma system

MAG-Power Equipment offers the PCA28/30 lightweight, portable, inverter-powered plasma cutting system for commercial, automotive, and light industrial applications.

The inverter power supply features dual-line-voltage (11/230 VAC) capability and provides adjustable output from 5 to 30 amps. Diagnostic LED indicators alert the operator of low voltage, over temp, low air, and parts-in-place.

The inverter ignition system provides quick starts and continuous cuts on all metal surfaces, including painted, corroded, or expanded metals, and does not use high frequency that can interfere with surrounding electronics.
